Ottawa police placed a yellow tarp on the Booth Street sidewalk, over the place where the body of Yazdan Ghiasi was dumped from a car.

Ottawa police said there are people in the community with information "vital" to the investigation of the shooting death of 16-year-old Yazdan Ghiasi and are asking them to come forward.

Police said Friday the investigation into Ghiasi's death is ongoing despite the arrest of three men charged in connection with the incident.

Ghiasi, a student at Notre Dame High School, died Monday after witnesses say he was dumped from a car on Booth Street, bleeding from an apparent gunshot wound to the chest. He was pronounced dead later in hospital.

More than 200 friends, family and members of the city's Iranian community packed Ottawa's main mosque on Thursday for an emotional funeral.

Abdulhamid Wehbe, 20, was charged on Wednesday with second-degree murder while Khaled Wehbe, 19, and Zakaria Dourhnou, 18, were each charged with being an accessory after the fact.

Police have offered no official explanation of motive, the 10th homicide of the year in the city.

Police said people with knowledge that may aid the investigation are asked to phone the Major Crimes Unit or Crime Stoppers.
