LIMA, (UPI) -- Police in Peru walked suspected killer Joran van der Sloot through a news conference in handcuffs Saturday after he was returned from Chile.

Van der Sloot, 22, said nothing as reporters, packed into an auditorium at police headquarters, shouted questions, the New York Daily News reported.

The Dutch national is charged in Lima with killing Stephany Flores Ramirez, 21. Her body was found in his hotel room Wednesday.

Video from hotel security cameras showing van der Sloot and Ramirez on their way into the hotel room was released Saturday, the News said. The same cameras picked up van der Sloot leaving alone with a small backpack and gym bag.

Van der Sloot is a suspect in the 2005 disappearance and possible homicide of Natalee Holloway of Alabama -- a high school senior at the time -- who vanished while on a graduation trip to Aruba.

Chile expelled van der Sloot Friday, driving him to a police station in a Peruvian border town. He was greeted by a small crowd who shouted obscenities at him as he walked from a Chilean police car to the building, CNN said.

Van der Sloot was charged this week in Alabama with extortion and fraud. Federal prosecutors say he tried to sell information about Holloway's fate.
