RCMP surrounded the green house depicted above, in a standoff in December with Bay Bulls resident Leo Crockwell.
A week-long police standoff in eastern Newfoundland cost almost $500,000 before the Mounties lost their man.
The RCMP released an estimate of costs for the December siege in Bay Bulls that ended with the escape of suspect Leo Crockwell.
Crockwell slipped out the side window of a house as police pumped water in to try and flush him out.
He was arrested the next day about 18 kilometres away from Bay Bulls after the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary received a tip.
Crockwell faces 16 charges, including five counts of attempted murder.
RCMP say the price tag of more than $444,000 does not include outstanding claims as the investigation continues.
