Slipknot bassist Paul Gray dead at 38
URBANDALE, Iowa, (UPI) -- Paul Dedrick Gray, bass guitarist and a founding member of the metal band Slipknot, was found dead Monday in an Iowa hotel, police said. He was 38.
Gray's body was discovered at the TownePlace Suites in Urbandale, investigators told The Des Moines Register.
Although no cause of death was immediately reported, police said foul play was not suspected and the investigation was ongoing.
An autopsy was expected to be conducted Tuesday, the Register said.
Slipknot won a Grammy in 2005 for best metal performance for "Before I Forget."
