Spector named producer on wife's CD
LOS ANGELES, (UPI) -- Music icon Phil Spector, who is serving a prison sentence for homicide in California, is listed as a producer on his wife's new CD, Rolling Stone reported.
Spector, 70, was convicted in the 2003 shooting death of actress Lana Clarkson. He was sentenced last year to 19 years to life in prison.
The famed producer, who in his heyday worked on the classic songs "You've Lost that Loving Feeling" and "Be My Baby," is credited as producer and arranger for his wife Rachelle's debut album, "Out of My Chelle," due out digitally June 8 and on CD July 20, Rolling Stone said.
"I trusted her with my life and songs and production," Spector said of his wife in a statement. "She sings better than anyone else could have."
The last album on which Spector served as a main producer was the Ramones' 1980 release "End of the Century," the magazine noted.
