Stone to speak at the National Press Club
WASHINGTON, (UPI) -- "Platoon," "JFK" and "W." director Oliver Stone has been booked to speak at a National Press Club luncheon in Washington, the organization said.
The event is to take place June 23.
Stone is expected to speak about making his latest film, "South of the Border," as well as the political issues it addresses.
The movie, to be released next month, examines Latin American political leaders. Stone and his crew filmed South American leaders including Venezuela's Hugo Chavez and Argentina's Cristina Kirchner for the movie highlighting leftward-shifting politics among Latin American leaders, the National Press Club said.
Stone is to answer questions along with Tariq Ali and Mark Weisbrot, who penned the film's screenplay.
