Subway clocks lead riders to wrong trains

NEW YORK, -- New York transit officials said an electronic sign malfunction directing people to the wrong trains at a subway station was an isolated problem.
Subway riders said the electronic countdown clocks at the Wall Street station told commuters Thursday the trains on the southbound tracks would take them to the Bronx and the trains on the northbound tracks would take them to Brooklyn when in reality the opposite was true, the New York Daily News reported Friday.
NYC Transit officials said the clocks were shut down Thursday and the errors are being repaired. They said the problem, the cause of which was unknown Friday, was an isolated incident.
