Teens questioned in killing of man, 87
PHILADELPHIA, Two teenagers suspected of killing an 87-year-old Philadelphia man during a robbery gone wrong were arrested Friday, police said.

The suspects -- a male and a female -- were being questioned, The Philadelphia Inquirer reported. They had not been charged, and their identities were not released.

George Greaves was shot in his garage Wednesday afternoon after returning home from working out at a gym. Neighbors said they saw a young woman in Muslim clothes and a man in shorts running from the neighborhood.

Investigators said the pair were also suspected of a robbery nearby the same afternoon, KYW-TV, Philadelphia, said.

Neighbors described Greaves, a World War II veteran and retired machinist, as a friendly but reclusive man. He was healthy and active, spending much of his time working on his house and in his garden.

"I don't know how many wives got on their husbands pointing to Mr. George's home," said Sonny Nicholson, the Democratic committeeman in the area.

Greaves' cousin, Myrtle Ryan, said he enjoyed staying in family homes at the Jersey Shore and in the Poconos.

"He did what he wanted to do," she said. "He was very private."
