[Noobie Question?] Viewsat ultra lite

Using VS2000 Ultra Lite.
Was reading the thread about setting up FTA for all Viewsat Receivers, and it recommends flashing the unit before updating..
How do I flash it? With what type of file?
I presently use a USB port on front of unit for installing new fixes.
