What is a good camcorder to make professional looking short films?

I want a Camcorder that is around $1000 that I can use to make excellent short films. I want quality similar to the Canon 7Ds. Thanks.

For that price range you can get a Canon T2i. The video quality is comparable to the 7D, but the ISO performance can't compete with the 7D. FPS selection is also very limited.... but if you stick a 50mm 1.8 on the T2i and use some well controlled lighting and stabilization you can produce some decent results.
