Homicide detectives are investigating a suspicious death at downtown Winnipeg hotel.
Staff at the St. Regis Hotel on Smith Street called police late Saturday morning after finding the body of a 29-year-old man in a room.
Const. Jason Michalyshen of the Winnipeg Police Service said the initial investigation of the suite and the man's injuries show his death is suspicious.
Police said the man was from northern Manitoba but was not a flood evacuee. Investigators have notified the next of kin, but police said his name would not be released Sunday.
"There's many questions to be answered over the next several hours and obviously maybe even into the next several days," Michalyshen said.
Police have not said how the man died.
