Zsa Zsa Gabor faces hip surgery after fall
LOS ANGELES, Zsa Zsa Gabor's husband says a fall from her bed in Los Angeles left the 93-year-old actress with a broken hip Sunday.
Gabor was taken to UCLA Medical Center in Los Angeles where she will undergo surgery sometime Sunday, Gabor's husband, Prince Frederic von Anhalt, told CNN.
Von Anhalt said his wife was reaching to answer a ringing telephone and wound up on the floor.
"It's a complicated thing," he said. "It was an accident. And she is not that young anymore."
Gabor is middle of the three Hungarian-born sisters who were on the Hollywood A-list in the 1950s. She appeared in major films including "Touch of Evil" and "Moulin Rogue."
CNN said Gabor has been largely confined to a wheelchair since a 2002 auto accident. Von Anhalt said she remained mentally alert.
