Getting a new laptop - What's better, Intel Centrino, or an Intel/AMD Dual Core?

I'm looking at laptops, and I see different processors.One that I like has Intel Centrino and the other has AMD Turion™ X2 RM-72 Dual-Core Mobile ProcessorThe Centrino laptops are more expensive, so I'm assuming they are the better processors? Am I right?I don't care about the difference about Intel or AMD, which one is better, just wondering about the difference between Centrino, and a Dual Core.

Centrino is generally better, but it depends on the speed of the processor as well. Look for the one with a faster ghz processor. Pronounced gigahertz.

They're both good.. I'd use the AMD Dual Core for gaming.

Dual core is better than a single core Centrino in terms of performance and power consumption. Since you are getting a laptop and if considering mobility, you will prefer low power laptop configs with the new dual core processors.Intel also has a dual core line of processors - Core 2 Duo

Dual cores are generally better than Centrinos. The newer proccessor technology is more efficient, they are faster core proccessors with lower power consumption. Having two cores makes them efficient at doing multiple tasks at the same time. As programs are embracing dual and quad cores now they are becoming optimized and faster.
