'District 9' marketing campaign honored

LOS ANGELES, (UPI) -- The science fiction thriller "District 9" received eight awards for marketing at the Key Art Awards in Los Angeles.

"District 9" was honored Friday night by The Hollywood Reporter for its integrated marketing strategy, digital campaign, television spots and "Bus Stop for Humans" outdoor advertising.

Disney's "Up" received seven awards and Warner's "The Hangover" received five, The Hollywood Reporter announced.

Warner was the top studio with 14 awards and Ignition led the marketing agencies with a dozen awards for its work on "District 9," "Precious," "Caroline" and other major movies.

Sylvester Stallone received the annual Visionary Award, which is presented to a filmmaker who inspired movie marketers.
