PROGRAMMING: Sat Radio Changes, iTV Success for Olympics
According to press reports, Sirius XM subscribers now have access to programming that had previously been available exclusively to the other competing satellite radio service. Program personalities and brands being provided to customers include Oprah Winfrey, Opie and Anthony, the NHL and NBA, which are now available on the Sirius side of the satellite radio platform. Howard Stern and Martha Stewart can now be heard on XM --- More than 35 million homes had access to an Olympic interactive TV service via AT&T, Comcast, Cox, DIRECTV, DISH Network and Verizon FiOS TV, said NBC Universal, which delivered the content to multiplatform services. On the satellite side, nearly 7.5 million combined DIRECTV and DISH Network subscribers accessed interactive features, generating more than 50 million impressions and nearly 3.4 million hours spent using the enhanced offerings, NBC said.
