What seems like a better choice? Crosfire my ATI radeon HD 5850 or get an ATI Radeon HD 5870?

Right now in my computer I have the ATI radeon HD 5850, I am a pro gamer and I cant figure out what would be a better choice to do, also what would last longer and I want the best performance possible. Would ATI radeon Hd 5850 perform better than a single ATI radeon HD 5870? Please help so I can decide quickly.

Two 5850's would outperform one 5870 by a long way. Get a second one and crossfire them. Make sure your power supply has enough juice for both cards though.

If you're just buying one ATI Radeon HD 5870, then it would be better to crossfire two ATI Radeon HD 5850's. Or if you can afford it, go for two ATI Radeon HD 5870's and then crossfire them. BTW, make sure your PC support's the overload for crossfiring before buying them.

Dual high-end GPU is hard to beat. HD 5850 Crossfire actually performs like the HD 5970 (a dual GPU card). Check benchmark below;http://techreport.com/articles.x/19404/7So going Crossfire is really best bang for your buck since you already have the HD 5850.

2x5850 is faster than a 5870, but Crossfire configurations are assembled when you buy the PC or never. I most sincerely suggest going for the 5870

To me performance difference between HD 5850 & HD 5870 is not so far.If you really want to upgrade then you should look for HD 6990.Or 2 HD 5850 crossfire.Hope this will help.
