CARSON, Calif., (UPI) -- Toronto FC used a stingy defense to earn its first road point of the season Saturday, battling the Los Angeles Galaxy to a 0-0 draw.

Toronto (3-4-1) controlled play for most of the first half, but couldn't generate any scoring opportunities.

In the second half, the Galaxy (7-0-2) dominated the match, getting four shots off at Toronto goalkeeper Stefan Frei.

The Galaxy was playing their last game with stars Landon Donovan and Edson Buddle, who are leaving for the U.S. national team training camp.

Donovan is guaranteed to make the team and participate in the 2010 World Cup, and could be gone for six weeks, while Buddle is considered to be on the bubble to make the U.S. team.
