Bank robber hits same Collier County bank again

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

NORTH NAPLES, Fla. - It was a terrifying morning for bank employees at the PNC Bank on North Tamiami Trail in Collier County.

According to Collier County investigators, a man armed with a gun ordered all the bank employees to the ground and told the teller to get money out of the vault and her register.

The robbery occurred about 11:30 a.m. Wednesday.

The suspect also asked the teller for her car keys and used the teller's car as the getaway vehicle. The car was later recovered behind Naples Tomato, about a block away.

There are no reports of injuries.

The suspect is described as between 45 and 55-years-old. He is a white man with gray hair and chin stubble. He was wearing sunglasses and a dark brown fedora style hat, blue long sleeve shirt, with black shirt over it and black leather gloves.

He looks strikingly similar to a bank robbery suspect wanted for the robbery of the Royal Palm Bank in Fort Myers on October 28th. In this case, the suspect was dressed in a similar way, carried a long barreled gun and demanded a teller's car keys. He ditched the car a short time later at a nearby shopping center. The Lee County Sheriff's Office says while the descriptions are similar, it cannot say whether it is the same person.

Anyone with information on either bank robbery is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-780-TIPS.
