Police in Gatineau say it may take several days to identify the body pulled from the Ottawa River Tuesday near Hurtubise Boulevard.

Hurtubise Blvd. follows the shoreline of the river for several kilometers through Gatineau's east end.

Police say the body is that of a man but there was no identification on him.

An autopsy will be done in the next few days to determine his identification and the cause of death.

A rower on the Ottawa side near the Rockcliffe Airport reported a body in the river on Monday, but a fire department recovery team was unable to locate the body after a five-hour search.
