A woman's body was pulled from Calgary's Bow River Saturday morning following an extensive search.
The Calgary Fire Department was called to the river at about 8:30 a.m. MT to reports that a man was in the river.
The search started near the Calgary Zoo and continued downstream. The search team consisted of two fire department jet boats, ground searchers and a Calgary police helicopter.
Officials called the search off after two hours, but a passerby later spotted a body in the river southwest of the 22X overpass.
At that time, a woman's body was pulled from the river. Police have confirmed it was the same body that was previously being searched for.
The Calgary Fire Department is reminding the public to exercise caution near all waterways.
