Bullet found in baby's crib
CHARLOTTE, N.C., (UPI) -- The parents of a 3-month-old North Carolina child say they woke to find a hole in the ceiling of their apartment bedroom and a bullet in the baby's crib.
After Benjamin Broffman took his 4:30 a.m. feeding Saturday, mother Bridget took him to bed with her and husband instead of putting him back in his crib. Upon waking a few hours later, Bridget Broffman noticed something out of place on the ceiling, WSOC-TV, Charlotte, reported.
"I thought it was a giant moth or something like that," she said.
After finding a hole in the ceiling, Broffman woke her husband who discovered a bullet in the baby's crib inches from where the baby would have been sleeping, WSOC said.
"I thank God that it didn't go through him," Bridget Broffman said.
She called police, who said the bullet apparently had been fired into the air and came down through the roof and into the baby's crib. Police said they don't know where it came from, WSOC reported.
"There was a party outside last night, so it could have come from there," Broffman said.
