CALGARY - Calgary police have rescued a young child who was left in a car in a casino parking lot for six hours in frigid temperatures.
Police say they were called in the early morning by someone who heard a child's crying coming from the car. The car's windows were obscured by blankets to keep people from peering in.
Inside, a 21-month boy was found cold and crying, dressed in very light clothes.
He had vomited on himself and wasn't wearing any shoes or socks.
Police found the boy's 50-year-old father inside the casino and charged him with abandoning a child.
The temperature was around -8 C at the time.
