I currently have this hard drive,http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822148288I want to get another hard drive, simply because I want more space, and I was wondering if I were to get this hard drive (which is basically identical specs wise),http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822136320could I put them in a Raid 0 configuration?
Yes, you can put your two different brand name hard drives in RAID0 config. However, the sizes need to be the same, if not, you will lose the extra space of the bigger hard drive. For ex:1st hard drive 100gigs2nd hard drive 150gigsIf the above are in RAID0, you will lose the 50gigs on 2nd hard drive.
Yes, there should be nothing wrong with that, especially since they are the same size as speed.Just make sure you can do RAID on your computer as well!!!
You got it wrong.RAID 0 will not give you more space!0 is striping. its actually gives you LESS space.to raid drives, you have to get 4 things;1.same size / speed drives, or @ least same partition size.2.have a floppy drive with raid driver disket.3.a mother board that suport raid.4. and most important >KNOWLEDGE, and if you think raid 0, will give you more space > give up!
