Can I use 2 Hard Drives in RAID 0 and leave the third one out?

Am I able to put two hard drives in RAID 0 and use that as my C: drive, then take an SSD and use it as my D: Drive?

Yes.When you setup your array, just use the two drives you want in the Array Manager, create the RAID0 and leave the third drive by itself as it's own volume. Some older RAID cards may force you to create a separate RAID array (another RAID0 usually), and use the third drive as the only disk in the array. You may get a better answer than mine if you edit your question and let everyone know what type of RAID card you are using, or if you are setting up an array with software, if the drives are SAS or SATA, etc.

I'd do it differently. A SSD is faster than 2 HD in raid 0, esp if you're using only 5400 or 7200 drives. If you haven't bought the ssd yet, I'd just buy another drive and go raid 5. That's what my kids did in each of their XPS rigs (all velociraptor drives) until they went full SSDYou also did not tell us what type hardware you're using. Most raid controllers have good throughputs and have good buffers, but if you only have 5400 or 7200 rpm drives, it's not worth doing. Again, why not use the SSD as your prime drive and just use one drive as backup?
