The Ciel-2 satellite, built for Canada's Ciel Satellite Group, has been delivered to the Baikonour Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan and is now being prepared for a launch scheduled for Dec. 10.
The spacecraft, which will fly aboard a Proton launch vehicle, has been contracted by DISH Network. The satellite will reside at the 129-degree orbital location.
SES AMERICOM has a 70 percent economic interest in Ciel, which is based in Ottawa.
