Coach: Haynesworth likely won't be traded

WASHINGTON, -- Disgruntled Washington Redskins defensive lineman Albert Haynesworth probably won't be traded, Coach Mike Shanahan said Monday.
Shanahan told reporters at the team's training facility that there was "a pretty good chance" Haynesworth would still be with the club after the NFL's Tuesday trade deadline passed, The Washington Post reported.
"You just never know," Shanahan said. "There's a pretty good chance, though, that he won't be traded."
Haynesworth was held out of the Redskins' 27-24 loss to Indianapolis Sunday night, fueling speculation he would be traded. The two-time all-star had asked for a trade in June before skipping the team's mandatory minicamp that month, dissatisfied with Shanahan's move to change defensive philosophies.
Haynesworth was held out of Sunday's game following the death of his brother in a motorcycle accident. Shanahan said the lineman's mental state played a part in his decision not to activate him for the contest.
