COMMERCIAL: SES and SkyVision, Inmarsat and BGAN
SES New Skies said SkyVision, a global provider of internet services via satellite and terrestrial fiber optic systems, has renewed contracts for four transponders and contracted additional capacity on the NSS-10 satellite. SkyVision, from gateways in Europe, the United States and the Middle East, provides end-to-end solutions comprising of standard or custom-tailored IP connectivity services for ISPs and solutions for enterprises and non-governmental organizations --- Inmarsat said it is increasing the guaranteed IP data speed available on its Broadband Global Area Network (BGAN) service in response to demands from the media sector. The enhancement, currently in development, will be introduced by mid-2009, the company said.
