TECHNOLOGY: BGAN Approval for HNS and ViaSat, Intellian Ka-Band System
Hughes Network Systems said its Hughes 9250 mobile satellite terminal has been approved to operate over Inmarsat's Broadband Global Area Network (BGAN). Also, ViaSat said it received Inmarsat approval for the ViaSat VRT-100 rugged BGAN terminal --- This week, Intellian Technologies unveiled a marine satellite TV system that can receive high-def programming from DIRECTV's Ka-Band satellites. The technology will initially be featured in two new satellite TV antenna systems from Intellian, which can be coupled with the company's k-Series Dual Antenna Control Unit.
