Cory Hourd (right) was arrested Thursday evening in Regina. Christopher Gibson is still at large. RCMP Regina police have recaptured one of two prisoners who escaped from a minimum security prison in Prince Albert, Sask. this week.
It turns out Cory Christopher Hourd, 37, had made his way to Regina as police and corrections officials expected.
He was spotted walking alone in the 100 block of Albert Street, around 6 p.m. CST Thursday night.
He was arrested without incident by some Regina Police Service officers who recognized him from a photo. Hourd had been serving a two-year sentence for aggravated assault at Riverbend Institution.
The second man who escaped from the prison on Wednesday, Christopher Gibson, 31, is still on the loose.
Gibson is serving a three-year sentence for theft, illegal possession of a firearm, possessing counterfeit money, and other offences.
Police are asking anyone with information to contact the Prince Albert RCMP at 306-765-5500 or their local RCMP or police service.
