REGULATORY: FCC Details Wilmington Response

The Federal Communications Commission said the help-line phone number it established as part of the Wilmington, N.C., transition to digital TV this week received phone calls from 797 area residents, a number representing less than one-half of one percent of area homes. The next day, Sept. 9, the number of calls to the help-line totaled 424, the agency said. Only 23 calls were from people who were not aware of the digital TV switch or couldn't remember the date, the FCC said. The remaining calls were technical in nature.
