Gaming problem Assassins creed, Hitman blood money, Fraps

Cold anyone please help me... I have a really good pc 4gb ram, radeon HD 3870 X2, quad processor but mostly all HD games that i play are at 20 fps... My friend has practicly same PC but he has windows XP and Nvidia 8800GS. I got Vista. Assassins Creed, Hitman Blood money, World of Warcraft( when filming with fraps). All thse games are at high setings at 20 or more fps. My friend has them at 60 fps. What is the problem ..... Is it drivers? It cant be the operating system cos i saw on youtube lotsa vids playing at high quality with a not so good as my pc..

Does your friend have the same EXACT settings as you? I highly doubt it. Look at the custom detailed settings list. Not just high medium or low.You might have Direct X 10 enabled since you have Vista which should provide better graphics and physics but is much more taxing on your system than Direct X 9. XP doesn't support Direct X 10Vista also has numerous video card driver issues especially when it first came out. I would highly recommend upgrading your drivers.
