Harris regrets comment about Eric Braeden

LOS ANGELES, -- Actor Neil Patrick Harris says he feels bad about calling soap star Eric Braeden a "D-Bag" because he wouldn't appear in Harris' California-produced program.
Harris said he made the comment after Braeden pulled out of a cameo appearance on Harris' show "How I Met Your Mother," Entertainment Tonight reported.
"Eric Braeden is a D-Bag. The actor, (Robin's dad) agreed to a cameo, then last night bailed, saying the part wasn't 'substantial' enough," Harris tweeted Friday.
Harris said the part was recast with Ray Wise, "a fantastic actor who makes any part 'substantial.'"
Braeden, a cast member of "Young and the Restless," said he decided not to take the role because it wasn't "substantial."
"I really don't know who that fellow is. He's a guy who stars in that series," Braeden said of Harris. "It's very unfortunate. First of all, I came back from hip surgery. I was off for three weeks. I've doubled my work, 30 to 50 pages a day for me, alone. Everyone knows that I'm exhausted. I was not about to appear on a show for two lines, because that's what it amounted to."
Harris told E! Online he made the comment about Braeden because he is "fiercely protective of our show."
