COMMERCIAL: Intelsat Deals with MLB, Arqiva and ART
Intelsat announced that Major League Baseball International signed a contract for distribution to rightsholders in Asia, Europe and Latin America. Also, Arqiva Limited, a specialist in satellite and media services, signed a multi-year contract for Intelsat capacity at 1-degree West. Arqiva will use the capacity to distribute DTH and cable programming throughout Europe as well as support new MPEG-4 HD channel distribution, Intelsat said. In addition, Intelsat said International Network Distribution, a distributor of ethnic channels globally and a subsidiary of Arab Radio and Television Network Group, signed a multi-year contract extension for capacity on its IS-8 satellite, located at 166-degrees East.
