Is there that much of a difference in performance between DDR3 1066 MHZ and DDR2 667 MHZ ram?

If you were to get two laptops with the same exact specs except for the ram, one of them has 2gb of DDR3 1066 MHZ and the other has 2gb of 667MHZ DDR2 ram, would the difference in performance even be noticeable?
