Kerry Wood returns to Cubs
CHICAGO, -- Chicago Cubs General Manager Jim Hendry and right-handed reliever Kerry Wood agreed to a one-year, $1.5 million deal.
Wood, who last played for the Cubs in 2008 and has since had stints with the Cleveland Indians and New York Yankees, agreed to the deal after openly seeking to return to the team, the Chicago Tribune reported Friday.
Wood is reported to have rejected offers as high as $12 million from the Boston Red Sox and the Chicago White Sox.
