Lieutenant-governor Barbara Hagerman is getting ready to host the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge for an overnight stay at Government House in Charlottetown on July 3.
Hagerman said she found out on Thursday that Prince William and Catherine Middleton would be her overnight guests.
"It's going to be very nice to have them here. We don't really know what to expect. They will be accompanied by staff so we'll just have to wait until they come and I'll just offer them the hospitality of government house," she said.
Hagerman said housekeepers have been doing some extra cleaning to ensure everything is perfect.
"They will be staying in the Royal Suite upstairs. Certainly they'll have to have something to eat in the morning and so we're hoping that the staff will provide us with what they would like. But whatever we feed them, it will definitely be island produce."
Meanwhile the accreditation process continued Saturday for the 2,400 invited guests to a party and reception for the Royals at Dalvay by the Sea on July 4.
Invited guests are being accredited at the APM Centre in Cornwall. Guests have to show identification to get their official passes as well as some information on what to expect at the four-hour outdoor event.
