A small boy missing for several hours in the woods in South Rawdon has been found safe.
Brendan Wood, 2½, went missing about 1 p.m. Tuesday and was found at about 5:45 p.m. AT.
Brendan was reported missing after he went outside to play with his five-year-old brother and 10-year-old cousin.
The home Brendan was visiting with family is in a rural area, surrounded by woods.
RCMP said there was a lot of snow on the ground and it was –5 C and snowing as they searched for him. The boy was found by a neighbour, who knew he was missing. Brian Parker said he decided to take a walk around the property and saw some small footprints. He followed them and found the little boy lying in the snow, wet and missing one boot.
"I just seen tracks going into the woods and followed the tracks around the woods until I found him," said Parker. "He was just laying down asking for his mommy. I just ran up and grabbed him and took off out to the road as fast as I could."
He estimated his home is about a half to one kilometre down the road from the house Brendan was visiting.
"He was just asking for his mommy, just kept asking for his mommy. He seemed pretty happy," said Parker. "I'm just happy he was found, it's not a very nice night out."
