Miyazato again women's golf No. 1
DAYTONA BEACH, Fla., Ai Miyazato has retaken the world No. 1 ranking in women's golf, switching places with Cristie Kerr.

Miyazato and Kerr are tied in average ranking points at 10.27 but Miyazato has played in more tournaments. That allowed her to return to the top spot she held for one week a month ago.

It is the fifth change at the No. 1 spot in the history of the women's golf rankings but fourth since Lorena Ochoa announced her retirement in May.

Prior to that, the women's No. 1 spot was one of the most unchanging in sports. Annika Sorenstam was at the top for the first 60 weeks of the rankings before Ochoa took over and reigned for 158 weeks.

Jiyai Shin overtook Ochoa on May 3 and was on top for seven weeks before Miyazato was No. 1 for one week. Kerr then moved up and kept the top spot for three weeks.

The switch of Miyazato and Kerr, who is No. 2, was the only change in the women's Top 10. Suzann Pettersen is third followed by Shin and Yank Tseng in fifth. Choi-No-yeon is sixth followed by Paul Creamer and No. 8 Anna Nordqvist. Kim Song-hee is ranked No. 9 and Karrie Webb completes the Top 10.
