MLB: Boston 5, Toronto 4 (11 innings)
BOSTON, Aug. 22 -- Jed Lowrie smacked an 11th-inning homer Saturday, giving the Boston Red Sox a 5-4 victory over Toronto.

The Blue Jays had blanked the Red Sox for straight innings until Lowrie, leading off the 11th, connected on a 2-2 pitch from Casey Janssen (4-2) and sent it over the right-field wall.

Victor Martinez had three hits and drove in three runs while Marco Scutaro chipped in with three hits and two runs scored for the Bosox.

Jonathan Papelbon (5-5) got credit for the win with a scoreless top of the 11th as Boston evened its three-game series with Toronto at one win apiece.

Lyle Overbay homered for the Blue Jays.
