MLB: Chicago White Sox 4, Kansas City 3
KANSAS CITY, Mo., (UPI) -- The Chicago White Sox scored the decisive run in the fourth inning Tuesday and went on to edge the Kansas City Royals 4-3.
Alexei Ramirez drove in the eventual winning run with a single in the fourth to give the Sox a 4-0 that held up despite a three-run Kansas City fifth.
Gordon Beckham, Juan Pierre and A.J. Pierzynski drove in the other Chicago runs in the second. Gavin Floyd (3-7) got the win after giving up three runs -- two earned -- on seven hits. It was the first win for Floyd in five starts at Kauffman Stadium.
J.J. Putz pitched 1 1/3 innings for his second save.
Brian Bannister (7-6) gave up four runs on eight hits over four innings for the loss.
Scott Podsednik drove in two runs for the Royals and Wilson Betemit knocked in one.
