SEATTLE, (UPI) -- Michael Cuddyer homered and collected an RBI single Monday, pacing the Minnesota Twins' 5-4 decision over Seattle.
Cuddyer's run-scoring hit triggered a three-run Twins outburst in the second inning and his solo blast an inning later extended Minnesota's lead to 4-1. Jason Kubel added a home run on the next pitch from Doug Fister (3-3) to pad the Twins' lead.
Delmon Young connected on a two-run shot and Justin Morneau went 3-for-4 to raise his MLB-best batting average to .377, helping Minnesota win its fifth straight game and extend its lead in the American League Central to 4 1/2 games.
Francisco Liriano (5-3), who had lost his last three decisions, struggled at times but came away with the win, yielding three runs on eight hits. He struck out seven in six innings of work.
Jon Rauch notched his 13th save despite allowing the Mariners to plate a run.
Milton Bradley knocked in a pair of runs for Seattle.
