MLB: Seattle 5, Detroit 4
SEATTLE, (UPI) -- Josh Wilson's two-run single in the eighth capped a shocking late comeback Wednesday and handed the Seattle Mariners a 5-4 win over Detroit.

Trailing 4-1 entering the frame, Franklin Gutierrez led off with a single off Tigers starter Jeremy Bonderman. Ryan Perry (1-3) came in to relieve, and after striking out Milton Bradley, surrendered a two-run homer to Mike Sweeney, pulling the M's to within 4-3.

Seattle then took the lead when Perry allowed three straight hits -- a single to Jose Lopez, a double to pinch-hitter Rob Johnson and the game-winning hit to Wilson, which boosted the Mariners to a sweep of their two-game series with the Tigers.

Brandon League (4-4) picked up the victory after pitching 2 1/3 shutout relief innings and David Aardsma notched his 11th save for hurling a scoreless ninth.

Bonderman got a no-decision after turning in a fine start for Detroit, allowing no earned runs on five hits over seven innings.

Magglio Ordonez went 3-for-4 with a two-run homer in the Tigers' loss.
