MOSS POINT, MS – Imagine having ten foot alligators just roaming through your neighborhood. Wildlife trappers snagged two huge, hungry gators lurking around Sawmill Pointe Subdivision in Moss Point Monday.
Neighbors said two of the ten foot long, unwelcome visitors just showed up on their quiet street.
"It was huge. I am a little bitty person and this alligator could have just wrapped his legs around me and ate me up," one neighbor said.
"I was like, 'Oh, am I going to have him for lunch or is he going to have me for lunch?'" another neighbor asked.
Somehow the critters wandered right into a drainage hole on the street and got stuck. Frightened residents immediately called the gator trappers to catch them.
"They got the first one out and they are getting the big one."
The second gator was not such as easy capture. The big boy was not going to surrender without a fight.
After a three hour struggle, the trappers finally pulled the last gator out of the hole, duct taped his mouth and legs, and put him in the "gatormobile." Both were then hauled out of Moss Point.
Wildlife trappers said the gators will be released in a safer environment, far away from neighborhoods.
