Newlyweds rappel down from wedding
WINNIPEG, Manitoba, A Canadian couple made a dramatic exit from their rooftop wedding by rappelling down 17 stories as part of a fundraiser for people with disabilities.

Claude Labossiere and Miranda Dorno of Winnipeg, Manitoba, tied the knot Thursday atop the RBC Building, then rappelled 200 feet down the side of the building with 100 other participants in the sixth annual Easter Seals Drop Zone, the QMI Agency reported Friday.

"We wanted to do something different," Labossiere said. "The opportunity came up with the Drop Zone event and we thought, 'what a great idea!' We have romance, adventure and it's all for a good cause."

The event raised money for the Society for Manitobans with Disabilities Foundation.

"We have a diverse group of people. All ages, all abilities. It's really a celebration that anybody can do anything, if they put their mind to it," said Armando Versace, marketing manager with the society.
