Seven companies recall infant cribs
WASHINGTON, (UPI) -- The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission Thursday announced a voluntary recall of infant cribs made by seven manufacturers.
The cribs being recalled for repairs are part of an industry-wide initiative to secure drop sides on cribs to prevent a series of hazards, including risk of entrapment, suffocation and falling, the commission said in a statement Thursday.
The recall includes cribs sold by Child Craft, a firm that is out of business.
In addition, cribs sold by Delta Enterprise Corp. of New York; Evenflo of Miamisburg, Ohio; Jardine Enterprises of Taipei, Taiwan; LaJobi of Cranbury, N.J.; Million Dollar Baby of Montebello, Calif., and Simmons Juvenile Products Inc. of New London, Wis., are involved in the recall.
"Cribs should be the safest place in the home for infants and toddlers," said CPSC Chairman Inez Tenenbaum.
