FORT WORTH — Her alleged rendezvous with a male student went from hospital bed to multiple hotel rooms.
Now we've learned that former Fort Worth high school teacher Jennifer Riojas is pregnant.
Investigators said the teenage victim came forward because he feared he could be the father of Riojas' unborn child. The baby's paternity has not been established.
The 25-year-old educator was arrested Wednesday and charged with sexual assault of a child. Riojas resigned from her position at Carter-Riverside High School last month.
Students at the school were abuzz Thursday with the news of Riojas' arrest.
"I heard some rumors, so I thought they were messing around," said one student. "I asked him too, and he said, he was just laughing, so that's when I thought, yeah, he was messing around with the teacher."
Friends of the victim and students of the accused claim the teacher-student relationship had been common knowledge on campus.
Some students alleged the 25-year-old science teacher dressed inappropriately.
News 8 was unsuccessful in attempts to reach Riojas and the family of the student who was allegedly involved.
