Teacher charged with student sex assault
SAN ANTONIO, A San Antonio elementary school teacher has been arrested for an alleged sexual assault on a 12-year-old male student at a hotel, police say.
The San Antonio Express-News identified her as Lucinda Rodriguez Caldwell, 38, a fifth-grade teacher at Cable Elementary School. She was set to be booked into Bexar County Jail on one count of aggravated sexual assault of a child, and bail was set at $75,000.
A police affidavit said the boy is one of Caldwell's students who told police Caldwell took him to a hotel and sexually assaulted him.
The boy's father told police when he went outside Saturday morning to find his son, he saw Caldwell drive up with the boy, then drive away.
The father told officers he followed them to Hondo, where local police stopped Caldwell, and the boy was returned to his father, the newspaper said.
