Teen charged with pawning mom's jewelry
BONITA SPRINGS, Fla., Authorities in Florida said they arrested a 19-year-old man who allegedly made $14,000 pawning jewelry he took from his mother.
The Lee County Sheriff's Office said Timothy Carl Dowdal, 19, of Bonita Springs, allegedly pawned his mother's jewelry on three separate occasions at Capital Pawn in Bonita Springs while his mother was out of town for 2 weeks, the South Florida Sun-Sentinel reported Friday.
The teenager's mother, Debbie Dowdal, told deputies her son admitted to pawning the jewelry when she confronted him about it.
Timothy Dowdal was taken to the Lee County Jail on three fraud charges, one count of grand theft of more than $10,000 and one count of dealing in stolen property.
