A 17-year-old Strathmore boy has been charged with trafficking in the death of another teen who died after taking the drug Ecstasy last week.
The 15-year-old, also from Strathmore, died on June 3 after he allegedly bought the pills from the accused, police said.
Strathmore police were called to a skateboard park in the town after a complaint that two teenagers were behaving oddly.
Police said the teens appeared to be in medical distress and were rushed to hospital, where the condition of both individuals continued to deteriorate as they were treated by emergency hospital staff.
The 15-year-old boy from Strathmore died in hospital shortly after arriving.
A 19-year-old man from Strathmore was flown to hospital in Calgary where was listed in stable condition.
Strathmore RCMP and the Calgary medical examiner's office are continuing to investigate the boy's death.
