[General Question?] transponder settings

I have been reading and the transponder settings i have found when you are first setting up your dish and box is as follows.
transponder settings 12224 for bev 91 + 82 and dish 110 , anf for dish 119 you change it to transponder 12239.
I have used these setting but my signal and quality have been low and if i change it to diffent transponders the signals improve.
Can someone tell me if these are the correct or which ones i should be using to set up my equipment these days.
I have been away from this for some years and i am in the process of setting up my testing equipment again.

Correction....for 119 setting use transponder 12253 not 12239

I use the 12414 TP To check the S&Q for those sats. Your receiver will default back to the 12224 TP, but that is ok, scan anyway and you should be fine.
